What is the 10/40 Window?
The 10/40 Window is the rectangular area of North Africa, the Middle East and Asia approximately between 10 degrees north and 40 degrees north latitude. The 10/40 Window is often called “The Resistant Belt” and includes the majority of the world’s Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists.
The 10/40 Window is home to some of the largest unreached people groups in the world.
There are many historical and biblical references to the 10/40 window, and why followers of Jesus Christ focus on them. One that stands out among them is Matthew 24:14
“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
While we cannot know the hour or the day of the Lord’s coming, we are commanded to witness to unto all the nations, so that every ear shall hear and then the end shall come. We also know that every ear, does not mean every person, but more so every tribe and nation.
Some Challenges
The 10/40 Window is comprised of many spiritual strongholds. The billions of people who live in the 10/40 Window have suffered not only the damaging effects of poverty and disease, they have also been kept from the transforming power of the Gospel. They are disastrous models of the truth expressed in 2 Corinthians 4:4, which states that “the god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
The Call
Most of our ongoing efforts have been started and continue in East Africa. We are now feeling a call to venture into the Northern parts of Africa. Please continue to pray with us, the nations and the called for this mission. If you are interested in joining the task please contact us.
