Heart of God Africa is dedicated to partnering with local indigenous leaders of the communities in which we serve. This unique style not only helps us determine what we will do, it also determines what we will not do. It’s our view that each village ministry, no matter what the title, should be run by local leaders, not the missionary or agency. – Denise Matthews

Kings Primary School
Kings Primary School is a private Christian school that offers education to the very poor, disadvantaged village community where the Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Education, has been unable to successfully establish schools. This school was established and founded through the efforts of Mary Griffiths of Ezra, in the UK, since 1993.
Heart of God Africa has recently partnered with Kings Primary school in 2011, to help establish a secondary school, and provide extensive vocational and biblical training to the teachers, staff and community.
Location
Kings Primary School is located in Busyangi village, Bunambutye sub-county, Bulambuli County, Mbale district of Eastern Uganda. The project is 25 miles from Mbale town along the main road from Mbale to Moroto. The area is an agricultural, fertile flatland below the ranges of Mt. Elgon, which borders Uganda and Kenya. Two rivers run along either side of the school.
Staff
Kings Primary school operations and staff are comprised of native community, teachers and trustee’s. There are eleven certified teachers, one head master, three board of trustees and grounds keepers. The teachers and staff receive their salaries through monthly donations and sponsorships. This helps to keep costs away from children who cannot afford to pay for education. The salaries given to the staff help to increase the economic welfare, and offer hope to local and community businesses.
Classroom Structure
The current class structure is grade P1-P6. Two classes per level, with a maximum of 30 children per classroom. There is no fee charged to children who attend the school. Our board of trustee’s go into the community based on submitted applications, and make a decision as to which children may have the greatest need. This process is extremely difficult, as we feel all the children have a great need for education.
How Can I Help?
We are currently praying over a lunch program initiative for the school children, a secondary school, and kitchen area. Your prayerful support and financial donations will go a long way in reaching these goals. All building and construction work is done through local community members, allowing them to take ownership and pride over their community and establishments.
