Here is a current update on how God is once again moving in Uganda. This comes from our director of Life Transforming Prison Ministry in Entebbe. I have edited it to a small degree so that you might better understand; very minimal.

It was all happiness last Sunday when we received one of the people we have been ministering to in the prison at our Church.

She came to give thanks unto the Lord for the kindness that was shown to her while serving a would be death sentence at Luzira. She is one of the people that benefited from the programme I told you about, where so many prisoners were pardoned. This woman was imprisoned on very serious crimes- Murder and Human Sacrifice.

I wish you were there to listen to her testimony. She is a widow with 2 daughters and a boy all at college level. She was imprisoned with her two daughters, and have been in prison for 3 years. She was born again shortly before her arrest, and this is the reason why she was framed for the crime, by her own people. She was a muslim, and when she was born again her family members were not happy. They decided to put her away with her family.

By the time she was released from the prison, all her property was taken, her house destroyed as if there had never been a house before. Her son has joined the bad groups and is now on drugs. Her land is being claimed by the in-laws because they assumed she was not going to come back.

She gave us her testimony, and we prayed with her, for she has no where to resettle. We are believing God that He will help us to be a blessing to such people. Already we have other women that we are trying to put in order after their release.

More women have had births in the prison, and their major request is, bedding that they can use to cover their babies and themselves, of course they need food stuffs, and clothes for their children, and thermos. The sick, as usual, need high nutritious foodstuffs, and drinks.

May God continue to provide for his people.

Saphan

You can see that many of these women don’t deserve to be in prison. God allows the circumstance to show His glory to them. The thermos Saphan is talking about helps the pregnant women keep their porridge warm to feed their babies. Otherwise they go hungry. If you feel led to help these women and the prison ministry efforts please contact me for more information, or click on the donate tab. Most importantly, however, they need your prayers. Denise

These are the children of Kings Primary School in Bunambutye, Uganda. Three hundred and thirty eight, to be exact. I will be heading back to Uganda next March to meet up with the children again. In this photo you can see them holding their mosquito nets they received on our last visit.

I hope you continue to pray for each of them, as continues to move in their lives mightily!

I received an email today from Saphan Muhanguzi, our director of Life Transforming Prison Ministry. God is doing amazing things through him. I’d like to share what he wrote with you:

Hello friends,

I have no words to say. I am overwhelmed by what happened today in the prisons. All I can do is praise the Lord for His goodness. The Lord moved mightily, people were blessed and we saw his presence.

We reached the venue at exactly 1100GMT. I was with my wife Alex and four other brethren the administration had made arrangements with. In attendance were over 200 prisoners, and the officer in charge. We began with songs of worship and praise to God.

The theme of the message was “No Situation is Permanent” cited on Joseph and Mordecai. The message was really wonderful. The message was received with great enthusiasm. The message lasted about an hour and ended in an altar call. Five women came forward and made professions of faith, Praise God! This caused a great uproar of excitement and had the prisons officers standing all around the windows to get a glimpse of what was going on inside. Tears were rolling down the cheeks of many attending, especially those that were confessing their sins.

Much discussion of the earlier testimony this week about the massive release of over 200 prisoners on death row, caused many to give praise to unto the Lord.

The event ended around 5:00pm.

I will give more details of the event over the next email.

May God Bless you.

In Him,
Saphan
