Heart of God Africa's Harvest Program in Tororo falls in line with 2 Corinthians 8 and 9. We are reaching out to the smaller churches and walking alongside them to help build them up in a way that they can more effectively minister to their local communities.
There is a lot of excitement and joy in the women’s groups that have already received the start-up kits for the new Harvest Program! Pastor Philip's church (Open Gate Church) was among those that were blessed; his picture is included below.
Here’s How It Works
Each church is given seeds, a sprayer and tools to begin a garden. The church members tend the garden and, once the seeds begin to sprout, they are given seedlings to take home and plant.
What It Does
Heart of God Africa’s Harvest Program program actually empowers the women to support their families by providing food, an income, and setting an example to her children.
The crops are carefully selected for nutritional value. Once the harvest is complete they not only have food available for the family, but crops to sell that provide funds for the next coming harvest season.
What Does it Cost?
For an initial investment of $70, a church receives all that’s necessary to begin a program that’s self-sustainable for both that church, its members and communities.
Who Can Participate?
The Harvest Program is made available to both the believer and non-believer as an evangelistic tool supplying both physical and spiritual food. Each person who participates in the program hears the Gospel and has follow-up counseling.
